Modu is an innovative stroller that, thanks to its modular mounting system, can be transformed from a single-child product into a solution for siblings or twins, a wagon-style stroller, or even a stroller for pets.
Various configurations can be freely mounted on the frame, including two carrycots for infants, a carrycot and a seat, two seats, or one of them combined with a pet carrier. In wagon mode, it can comfortably accommodate two children up to 4 years old.
The newly designed carrycot features a distinctive geometry that increases the field of view for the second passenger. Both the carrycot and the frame — across different configurations — are foldable, making transport and storage significantly easier.
The project scope included ergonomic analysis of all configurations, comprehensive product design development — including the frame, carrycot, seat, and wagon module — as well as material and finish selection (CMF) and branding implementation.
The entire design process – from sketch to implementation – was conducted in close collaboration with the Anex R&D team.
Thanks to its modular design, Modu can be used in over 35 configurations — adapting as the family grows.
The key design challenge was to maintain a consistent design language across all configurations while ensuring comfort for every user — children, adults, and even pets alike.
Design that adapts
While designing Modu, we aimed to preserve the minimalist DNA of the Anex brand — a significant challenge given the product’s complexity. Simplifying forms and reducing the number of elements not only ensured visual consistency but also improved ease of use.
Ergonomics was a key aspect of the project — despite necessary compromises, we ensured optimal positions and the best possible interactions for all users.
The carrycot features a sculpted lower form, improving visibility for a child traveling next to a younger sibling. The base of the carrycot is made from lightweight EPP material, reducing weight while enhancing acoustic comfort.
The low overall weight of the system, combined with quick folding, significantly improves everyday usability.
